![]() Combined with the lack of countermeasures, the pilot must be careful or skillful enough to dodge enemy missiles. Also, most homing weapons are still able to lock onto it. In addition, cloaking the Raiju does not protect it from a Galaxy Super Yacht's defense system, the Weazel News TV spectator channel or being spotted by the Orbital Cannon surveillance system. However, its weapons are disabled for the pilot during the stealth mode. Enabling stealth mode also reduces the pilot's wanted level to 2 stars if the pilot has 3 or more stars. Similar to the Akula and the Annihilator Stealth, the most notable feature of the vehicle is its stealth mode, which allows the pilot to navigate around the map without being spotted by enemy radars, making it useful for surprise attacks, bounty evasions, and getaways. The F-160 Raiju can take as much damage as other aircraft introduced in the Smuggler's Run update, requiring three homing missiles/ Heavy Sniper Mk II explosive rounds, two Railgun rounds or a single RPG to destroy the jet. The aircraft is powered by a single turbofan engine with an afterburner, sharing the engine sound with most fighter jets. This makes it possible to land in smaller spaces or areas with a small surface area, such as the top of the Kosatka. The Raiju is slightly smaller than the Hydra, with its wheels also being closer together. When switching from horizontal mode at full speed, the jet will take about two seconds to slow down. The aircraft moves very slowly when flying in this mode. ![]() When in vertical mode, it is able to pitch and roll much further than the Hydra, and can hover upside down by leaning to the side while descending, though will gradually lose altitude. It can fly directly up without losing speed, unlike the Hydra. The jet’s handling is superior to most aircraft, as it can turn tightly at low speeds and has good rudder strength (18 degrees per second). The acceleration is also the quickest of any aircraft, and only the LF-22 Starling and planes with JATO thrusters can out accelerate it. Above 250 meters/820 feet, it can go at 366 kph/227.5 mph. Below 250 meters/820 feet, the jet can fly at 301.7 kph/187.5 mph. When in horizontal flying mode, the Raiju is currently the fastest aircraft in the Enhanced and E&E versions of the game, beating the Pyro in top speed. Similar to the Hydra, the pilot can switch between vertical and horizontal flight by holding the left joystick on consoles, or holding G on keyboard on the PC. Performance Grand Theft Auto Online Vehicle Though unusable, two bombs can be seen as well. The aircraft is equipped with two built-in machine guns with explosive rounds located above each intake (most likely based on the GAU-22/A 4-barrel gatling guns, the standard armament of the real-life F-35 Lightning II), as well as two missiles stowed within two openable bays underneath. It uses a set of unique industrial wheels. The majority of the fuselage is painted with the primary color, while the small protruding details above and below the aircraft (intended to be radar reflectors) are painted with the secondary color. ![]() In addition of the indicators used on the P-996 LAZER and most fighter jets, various flight data info screens and weapon systems are displayed on the flight panel inside, unique to this vehicle. The aircraft bears US Marines markings beneath the wings as well as "VGA-025" markings. The underside also house the main landing undercarriage. Between the vertical stabilizers is a single mid-mounted jet engine which is capable of redirecting its thrust downward/ Numerous compartments open when the jet transitions to hover mode, including the LiftFan behind the cockpit and the thrust blades on the back to allow the jet nozzle pivot downwards. The tail of the F-160 lacks horizontal stabilizers in favor of a delta wing with outer ailerons and inner elevators. Green lights found on the sides of the aircraft light up only when the plane is not in stealth mode. The F-160 features a forward-pivot canopy providing access for the pilot, and an hexagonal sighting device below the nose, resembling the AN/AAQ-40 EOTS (Electro-Optical Target System) from the real-life inspiration. Mated to this are wings and a Pelikan tail design reminiscent of the Sukhoi Su-75 Checkmate and the Northrop YF-23. Most of the aircraft, that being the nose, cockpit, intakes and fuselage are based on the Lockheed-Martin F-35A Lightning II with the STOVL LiftSystem from the F-35B. The design of the F-160 Raiju is reminiscent of stealth fighters from the Joint Strike Fighter and Advanced Tactical Fighter programs of the USAF.
